October 20, 2004 - 14:57 It's been raining since last night and I really don't like being out of the house whenever it's wet. Making me feel uneasy and comot with kelembapan yang sungguh tinggi *err...relevant ke?* Being here for 4 years now, I SHOULD have gotten used to the British weather where it always rains; be it in winter, spring, autumn *for surelah!* or even summer. But, the truth is...NO! I am not used to it (yet). And now ni...the weather is like amat sesuai for me to be wrapped in the duvet...I wish! Tambah2 lagi puasa ni...tak tau why amat penat lately ni. Anyway...wanna cerita ceriti sikit on my anak dara sorang tu aka amalin. I fetched her from school today and as usual...she brought back a thousand of things with her. In her nursery, they use to do a lot of this art stuffs ranging from paintings and puppets to even cakes which they cooked themselves. Of course the teachers la yg teach them kan when it comes to cooking. Tapi for the painting and drawing part, usually the kids themselves are free to draw whatever they like. Not a single day does amalin fail to bring back at least a paper of anything she's thinking of sketching. Until there a few times we were asked by the teachers if anyone of us are really artistic. We replied them with a very big laugh really. Neither me nor my hubby is artistic. Nak lukis kucing pun mcm tak seropa kucing. But, they commented that amalin's drawing is very detail. I can't categorize her drawing as cantik...it's actually like a normal 4 yr old drawing but then, it's very detail. Meaning, if she draws a human, there'll always be hands, legs, mouth, hair, eyes, eyebrow, ears, nose and sometimes eye lashes. Her teachers said that that's not what a normal 4 yr old would draw. I should actually put one of her drawings here. She actually likes drawing and colouring since she was 18 months old. At that time I used to buy her some colouring books and one of those stationary sets with water color, crayons, color pencils etc...everything in 1 container. You know lah...with girls...those things selalunya comes in Barbie or cinderella or snow white's back ground. And she so loves all those characters...being a typical girl. Later, she starts asking us to draw everything like fish, tiger, cat, mouse, elephant, etc. Yg simple2 boley la draw...but when it comes to draw mommy ke...abah ke...or even cinderella...mulalah gelabah. Because, being her...a perfectionist, if benda tu tak jadi, she'll keep on asking us to draw it again and again! Later, as she grows, the asking to draw this and that becomes less and she starts to draw herself. Then, popped the questions by a few of her teachers about us being artistic. Hmm...maybe she really has the art talent. Couldn't help wondering how the talent develop in the future. And now ni...musim menggantung all those masterpiece on the wall, cupboards, dresser...mana2 la yg boley digantung since I forbid and really forbid her to draw on the wall...pernah kena spank bcoz of this...so she's being really careful now! I should get her own web page or fotopages so that we can save all her masterpiece bcoz sometimes I curik2 threw away some of them without her knowing...cruel ke? If she ever knew, sure mengamuk sakan!Anyway, one more story on her drawing...she pernah sketched me and a baby lying on a hospital bed with a doctor besides me...boleh? How did I figure it out? Well, the teacher wrote them on the paper. I guess the staff asked her what exactly she drew and she came out with that!I understand where that came from...last time, everytime I went for an antenatal check up, she and hubby would always accompany me. Hmm...I guess I should be careful doing things in front of her...kang benda2 yg obscene...dia pi draw kat nursery dia...abis rahsia rumahtangga!
