I spent the whole day at Russell Square yesterday. The London Mathematical Society organized British Women in Maths (BWIM)day. Apparently it is to encourage more female Maths graduates to get involved in research and postgraduate studies. The speakers were both postgrad students as well as lecturers, presenting the work they are doing. The work range frm pure Maths to all sorts of applied Maths. Tak paham pun ada juga apa yg diorg present tu...esp those application yg involved a great deal of physics...sampai 4 dimensions and 6 dimensions.Adoiii laaa...makcik ni kalau benda2 yg unimaginary ni agak lemah and susah nak terima sikit. Itu yg tak paham tu. Anyway, all in all, it's actually a good exposure for me sambil2 making friends. Maklum lah...makcik ni sejak after secondary school, selalu jek jadik minority dlm class in terms of the gender. Even now, my officemates semenye guys.Takdak female pun. I am not biased towards the guys or anything like that but, sometimes you need your own species jugaklah di kala kadang2 tu...tetiba rasa nak pi sopping mopping ka kat high street bawah tu...window sopping ka *mind you, our uni ni di tgh kedai2 n shopping complex...hehehe* Ni...aku dok jalan sorang2 laa...the jejantans tu seme yg nerd punye jenis.Asik tenung pc tak abis2.Tensen juga lah makcik ni. Kalau borak2 pun asiklah hal dunia semasa...hal politik...nak ketawa ria pun kadang2 je. Sometimes when I tried to make a joke...they just couldn't get it. Lembab nak dapat the joke tu.Adooiii...tak ke frust!
Anyway,cerita2 pasal keje2 belajar ni...lupa nak story I was lost masa dok carik De Morgan Hse *where the event was held*. Dekat 1 hr jugak lah dok berputar2 at the same spot.Rupa2nya I wrongly interpreted the map. Luckily there was also a girl from Notts Uni yg nak pi sana...pun sesat jugak. Dalam dok berputar2 tu...asik2 terserempak ngan this girl...asik2 terserempak ngan this girl. And I also recognized the same map that she held was exactly the same as mine. So, pi tanya dia nak pi mana. Spot on!At last sampai juga we all kat building tu resulting us to be half an hr late.Dahle dianye supervisor was the 2nd speaker...hehe.Sib baik sempat juga due to the 1st speaker's time was allocated for 1 hr.
On the way back pulak, at the tube stations terserempak with an elderly couple from Malaysia. Recognized the makcik's dressing yg ala2 Malaysia and tegor la plak depa. Sembang punya sembang rupa2nya dok kat Butterworth where my aunt is residing now ni.And mmg depa kenai my uncle. What a small world kan. Anyway...tukar2 address and phone nos coz they said they will be coming again to visit anak depa kat Sussex Uni. They came here pun just to send their anak baru register for a degree course.
Eh...banyak pulak story today.Nak kena pen off dulu lah ye...sambung buat programming pulak ni.Take care people!
