September 14, 2004 - 23:34 Looks like the cool weather is here. Dah start sejuk dah ni.Adoiiii...tak larat nak mengharungi all the wet and windy kind of weather.Today it's been so windy that all the baju2 on the ampaian melayang2 ditiup angin yg sejuk itu.Had to take them inside the hse juga even though it was sunny outside. Azri has not been feeling well since yesterday. He's got a temperature this morning and has been constantly given calpol.Today, for the whole day, he didn't get enough sleep, making him cry and feel uncomfortable.Poor him. I just couldn't leave him, so decided to stay and did my work at home. I had to be at home by 3 pm though for Amirul's appointment with the speech therapist. So, just wouldn't wanna waste time on travelling. Speech therapist for Amirul?Well, I was a bit concern about his speech since he can't barely say any word, even the simplest word like car or something like that. He is 19 months now and should be saying at least a word. All that he can say is just pa...pa...pa.At first we thought that he was trying to call his dad papa. But looks like everything or everyone is called papa.Don't know whether he really understands the word papa or just his way of addressing things. He seems to have a lot of things to tell us, but, he just ends up babbling.Hearing is fine since he does understand us whenever we ask him to do anything. So, I mentioned it to his health visitor and she offered for a speech therapist to examine Amirul.Maybe I'm being paranoid but I just want to make sure that he is normal. If it's the case and time is just what he needs, then, I shall stop worrying.I know that normally boys develop their speech later than the girls. But, not yet a simple word from Amirul starts to worry me a bit.Anyway, the therapist suggested us not to ask questions much, but rather, let him concentrate on words and encourage him to say them. We do need to sit and spend at least 5 minutes a day with him just for his speech session. She mentioned that if we tend to ask questions, we sometimes answer the questions ourselves without giving him chances to say any words out. Thinking about it, yes it is true without us realizing it.We'll see how Amirul develops his speech as the therapist will come again in two months' time to check on his pregress. Gotta go now and nite nite!
